Voluntary & community groups
When would voluntary and community groups be involved?
Voluntary & community groups are involved in the day-to-day response and are vital for an effective recovery from an incident.
A working group for the voluntary sector and category 2 responders takes place to make sure that each organisations roles and responsibilities are known, and discussion takes place about how they would respond to a specific emergency.
The following voluntary organisations are involved before, during and after an emergency:
- Red Cross
- WRVS
- Salvation Army
- St John Ambulance
- Leicester Council of Faiths
- Voluntary Action LeicesterShire
